Melissa Bailey, APRN, FNP-C
Melissa Bailey APRN, FNP-C grew up in a small rural Kansas town. She graduated from Wichita State University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and worked for several years in the operating room at a local hospital. She decided to further her education and graduated with honors with a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Maryville University. After graduation she began work in primary care, but more recently has been working back in a surgical setting.
When reviewing the patient’s medical history prior to surgery, Melissa found that a large majority of the patients were unaware of their medical diagnosis and the reasoning behind the medications they have been prescribed. This inspired her to begin researching ways to help a patient have more control over their own health. This research has led her to Functional Medicine and she is currently in the process of obtaining her certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine.
Melissa is married to Jeffery and the couple have raised three children Kelly, Macy and Colton. In her spare time Melissa enjoys all aspects of the outdoors, with running, biking and hiking being some of her favorite things.
