There’s a new pharmacy in town. It was an exciting day on campus as the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita Medical Practice Association, in partnership with Curant Health, opened a new on-site pharmacy inside of the KU Wichita Internal Medicine Midtown Clinic. The pharmacy, which serves most Midtown Clinic patients, offers a streamlined, one-stop shop care model, aiming to improve patient outcomes and alleviate transportation difficulties and financial strain tied to extra travel. Donna Sweet, M.D., professor and medical director of KU Wichita Internal Medicine Midtown, was on hand to help with the ribbon-cutting in the clinic, where she thanked staff and partners for all of their hard work, noting “our patients will benefit from all you’ve done.” The pharmacy has been in the works for about a year and a half, said Aaron Ryan, executive director of KU Wichita Medical Practice Association.
