Tiffany Schwasinger-Schmidt, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Tiffany Schwasinger-Schmidt joined the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita as an assistant professor in the summer 2017. Dr. Schwasinger-Schmidt completed her Bachelor of Science in biological sciences with minors in chemistry, biochemistry and psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2006. She then completed her Ph.D. in genetics, genomics and bioinformatics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2010. She received her medical degree from KU School of Medicine-Wichita in 2014 and completed her internal medicine residency at KU School of Medicine-Wichita in June 2017.
Dr. Schwasinger-Schmidt is board-certified in internal medicine and specializes in diabetes and obesity care, but she also sees patients with a wide variety of medical conditions through her primary care practice. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Schwasinger-Schmidt serves as a principal investigator on numerous clinical trials through the KU Wichita Center for Clinical Research to bring innovative and cutting-edge treatments to her patients. As a native Kansan who grew up in Goodland, Kansas, Dr. Schwasinger-Schmidt is dedicated to providing quality health care to patients in Wichita and the surrounding areas.
Along with her clinical practice, Dr. Schwasinger-Schmidt is engaged in all levels of medical student and resident education, and the training of the next generation of physicians. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time at the lake with her husband and three children, gardening and cooking.
