Clinical Interests: Cardiovascular disease prevention, Diabetes, Healthcare Teams

Dr. Brumfield is the Division Chief and Director of Internal Medicine Education for Ambulatory Care at the KU School of Medicine-Wichita. In addition he is actively involved in the medical education of residents and students. Dr. Brumfield is originally from Moreland, Idaho. This is a small farming community that shaped his small-town values. When Dr. Brumfield isn’t at work, he loves spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and woodworking.



Lisa Le, MD

Medical School: KU School of Medicine-Kansas City

Residency: University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

Dr. Lisa Le has been practicing medicine for more than 25 years with many of those years in private practice. She joined the Internal Medicine Department at KU School of Medicine-Wichita in 2009, and established her own clinic before transitioning to supervising faculty of KU Wichita Internal Medicine Residency Clinic. Later, she became the director and provider of KU Student Health. While she loves teaching, she misses the personal connection and taking care of patients with complex health issues. We are excited to announce that Dr. Le is joining the KU Wichita Internal Medicine Faculty Clinic with Tiffany Schwasinger-Schmidt, M.D., and Elisha Brumfield, D.O. She is currently accepting new patients with Medicare and commercial insurance. Clinical Interests: Diabetes, Obesity care

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Schwasinger-Schmidt serves as a principal investigator on numerous clinical trials through the KU Wichita Center for Clinical Research. She is also engaged in all levels of medical student and resident education. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time at the lake with her husband and three children, gardening and cooking.
